Moves with Grace / Earth Child / Life Student
I grew up with an athletic family in Athens, Georgia. As I got older, I spent more time on team sports and grew to love swimming in particular. At that time, my Dad was doing sprint triathlons and encouraged my whole family to give it a try. I really enjoyed it and stuck with it for a few years. I continued to run, hike, dance, and stretch as I moved through high school and onto college. My Dad continues to do Ironman Triathlons and it was watching him roll out his muscles and do his stretches every evening that inspired me to build a closer relationship with my body.
I came to Asheville to study at Warren Wilson College, where I majored in Outdoor Leadership and was a crew leader for the Wellness Crew. After graduating I decided to expand on the passion that I found on the Wellness Crew and I decided to go to the Asheville School of Massage and Yoga.
In my bodywork practice, the client’s comfort is priority and I always focus on addressing the client’s chief concerns. I hope to work on everything from general stress to chronic pain with a combination of relaxing and therapeutic techniques. I especially enjoy doing deep tissue, trigger point therapy, and myofascial work. I apply much of the inspiration and energy that I get from nature into bodywork, as I look to it for personal healing and teaching.
I plan to, one day become a Forest Therapy Guide, officially combining what I learned as an Outdoor Leadership student with my bodywork, yoga, and meditation practice.
