Based on our combined expertise in over twenty different bodywork modalities, we have developed a proprietary approach to therapeutic bodywork that is not available anywhere else in Asheville.

Think of bodywork as a tapestry, with each modality—deep tissue massage, hot stones, trigger point therapy, etc.—acting as a single thread. Traditional bodywork models display all the different threads, and ask you to choose which one you want or need.

We prefer to take an integrated approach, listening for what you need in the moment and adjusting accordingly.

Your bodywork sessions will be tailored to meet your long-term needs, as well as whatever you walk in with on any given day. Depending on that (and which practitioner you’re seeing), your treatments may include any of the following techniques:

  • Abdominal Massage
  • Acutonics™ Tuning Forks
  • Assisted Stretching
  • Ayurvedic Massage
  • Breema
  • Craniosacral
  • Cupping
  • Deep Tissue
  • Hydrotherapy (heat and ice)
  • Myofascial Release (aka Structural Integration / Rolfing)
  • Polarity
  • Pre- and postnatal massage
  • Reiki
  • Shiatsu
  • Sports Massage
  • Swedish Massage

Clients will often come to us with a particular goal in mind, and halfway through they’ll need something totally different. Or, they’ll start out working with one of us, and after a few sessions they’ll want to switch it up.

We love that, and have deliberately designed our services to allow us the fluidity and flexibility to meet you where you’re at moment to moment.

We’ll start with a thorough assessment of your needs, concerns, and preferences. From there, we’ll build out a customized treatment plan for you, hand-picking the best techniques and methodologies from our (extremely large) bag of tricks.

Relief, healing, blossom…and be!

Which Practitioner Should I Work With?

In general, Avyanna specializes in deep Swedish, abdominal massage, and fertility massage, and Phoenix does more athletic massage, structural rehab, and trigger point work. That said, Avyanna can be surprisingly strong, and Phoenix can be surprisingly gentle.

Most new clients already have an idea about whom they’d like to work with—but if you’re not sure exactly what you need or who you should see, don’t worry! We’ll figure all that out when we talk.

When Will I See Results?

Most clients report feeling more relaxed and “looser” after their first session; however, without resolving the lifestyle factors that caused the issue in the first place (like excessive computer work or repetitive motion at work), the tightness and/or pain will continue to recur. For issues like anxiety, insomnia, chronic pain, and rehab, you should start to see some relief after 2-3 sessions, with long-term improvements after 8-10 sessions. Regardless of your primary concern, massage is a cumulative practice—the benefits build over time as your body assimilates the changes.

Can’t I Just Get a Regular Relaxation Massage?

Of course! With the breadth of our knowledge and expertise, we offer much more than a “typical spa” experience (what some refer to as the “fluff-n-buff” massage). However, if you’re just passing through—or simply need an hour or two of pampering, we can absolutely make that happen.

If you’re a new client, you’ll start with a 90-minute initial session, so we have time for a thorough intake process AND an awesome massage. Click here to schedule.
